George McConnell is a theatrical performance practitioner/scholar who earned his PhD in Theatre Historiography from the University of Minnesota. He taught in the BA Performance Program at Florida State University for four years prior to joining Spark IP Law as an Office Manager. His research focuses on creative practice as critical thought, and questions the legitimating power of the written word as the form of expression that determines what does or does not count as knowledge in contemporary Western culture. In spite of his research, he has presented papers at ATHE, ASTR, MATC, and PSI. He has directed over thirty productions that have shown in Minneapolis, Los Angeles, Tallahassee, and New York. He has performed in many more than thirty.
